We are thrilled to announce that Frans Stiene, senior teacher at the International House of Reiki, has won the Reader’s Choice Favourite Reiki Teacher of the Year 2013. Thank you to those who nominated him - it was a lovely surprise. And thank you to everyone who voted for him. Frans dedicates his life to being the best Reiki practitioner and teacher he can be, so this is a great pleasure for him to receive.

Within the structure of the system of Reiki there is the ability for a student to progress to the teacher level. During a student’s development at this level he or she becomes qualified to pass on the system of Reiki to others. The timing of this will largely depend upon the student’s progress with his or her self-practice.
In Japan, reiju is the name given to the method a teacher uses in order to communicate with individual students on an energetic level.
In the process of moving from Japan to the West, reiju changed a number of its aspects including its name. In the West its altered form is usually known as an attunement, initiation or transformation.
Mari has written five books and has travelled around the world teaching Reiki. She has numerous stories to tell including how she used to make kids cry and how she has attempted to fix that.
