It is interesting to see how, the deeper I go within my own practice of the system of Reiki, my own way of thinking changes. I used to say to people who asked for distance healing, “I am sending it to you” or “On the way” just to name two. But over time this started to feel strange to me because I felt that the people who I was working with were not different from me and I not different from them. They were not somewhere else separate from me; in fact I felt them deep inside my heart-mind.
I remember as a new mother being told by my modern chiropractor (she wasn’t the bone cracking type) that for the first few years of my daughter’s life her health would be directly related to my own.
This made sense. We were once one, and, although now two, our lives were dependent upon each other.
As taught at Okuden Reiki level II and emphasized at Shinpiden Reiki Level III, “distance healing” is not really about (mentally) crossing a distance. It is more about annihilating distance in a momentum towards unity. And HSZSN (the 3rd symbol/mantra as taught in Okuden) is like the knot you would tie in your handkerchief to remember this.
Great to see all your different ideas and comments on our last blog, A question for you about Reiki Treatments, where we posted a question about two different types of hands-on healing sessions. Some thought it too brain numbing, others too easy, and for some - just plain too different from what they’d been taught as Reiki practitioners. Why would we ask this question?
Well, there was a second, unwritten, question in this blog…
Today we wanted to post a question to see what you think! So put your answers in the comment section below, if you like.
Below are presented two hands on healing sessions. Which one do you think will be the most profound one and why?
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has projected that within the next 100 years there will be a global warming of 11.5 °F (6.4 °C) due largely to greenhouse gas emissions.
In modern Reiki practices it is common for people to ask for distant healing and, therefore, for others to ‘send’ it. Basically, distant healing is where someone who is not present receives a Reiki treatment.
Yet, if you look at the structure of universal energy (Reiki) then distance doesn’t exist - even some quantum physicists today will tell you this (perhaps food for another blog). The term distant healing is therefore probably inappropriate but it is the commonly used terminology so we will also use it here.
It is phenomenal the list of Reiki Branches with curious new Age names that have sprung up on the Internet advertising distant attunements. So, is it worth putting your money into these courses? Will you get anything out of them?
