Over the past six months, I’ve experienced a tectonic shift in my life: my father died. Lately, I’ve been noticing my Reiki practice has changed as a result, in paradoxical ways, becoming deeper and more shallow, harder and easier, all at the same time.
I often get asked the question from Reiki teachers and students alike: Why do some practitioners and/or teachers have more energy coming out of their hands than others?
Some even go further then that and ask: Why do some practitioners and/or teachers emanate more energy from their whole being than others?
We are often asked what the word Reiki stands for within the system of Reiki. Reiki literally translates as Spiritual Energy.
Recently, there has been a lot of talk in the Reiki community about the concept of “de-attuning” people. This is due to a Reiki teacher having invented a new system which requires you to be de-attuned from your previous symbols before taking on these new symbols. He states that the new method he has invented is not in harmony with the older teachings.
In Hiroshi Doi’s book Iyashi no Gendai Reiki Ho we find a statement about Mikao Usui’s teachings. Below we find the Japanese text from Doi-san’s book, which he took from a “Leaflet of Reiki Ryoho—Members Only” 会員のみに配布する霊気療法のしおり This leaflet was issued by the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai when Wanami sensei was the 5th president.
