Recently, I was the keynote speaker at the 2012 New York Reiki Conference. The theme was Mainstreaming Reiki.
One of the other speakers was Dr. Sheldon Marc Feldman, who is Chief of Breast Surgery at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/ Columbia University Medical Center and a strong advocate for hands-on healing. Dr. Feldman spoke about Optimizing Surgery with Reiki, which was based on his experiences implementing a very successful program where Reiki practitioners are part of the breast surgery operating room team.
For me Reiki is a journey as reflected in the progression of training in Shoden, Okuden and Shinpiden classes. Our commitment to complete the classes and training required is our first steps to believe in ourselves and the path we must follow as Practitioners.
If you travel constantly, for the purpose of work or pleasure, you will know how stressfull it can be at times. The road network these days can be a difficult place to stay calm and focused. For the last four years, I have travelled from the UK to Gibraltar and back to the UK, a round trip that takes a week.
